I want to run away from here,
Run so far no one will catch me,
Run so far the wind won't touch me,
Run so far you'll never find me,
This world just keeps throwing everything in my face,
I can't take it anymore,
And all I want to do,
Is to run so far away it won't throw anymore,
I'll take that picture of us,
Where we're smiling at the sun
And holding hands as it sets,
Your warmth the only thing I can feel,
You must understand why I'm doing this,
Don't blame yourself,
When I'm far away from you,
Nothing was ever your fault,
I want to run away from here,
Run so far I can't hear your voice,
Run so far I can't feel your warmth,
Run so far that your only a memory,
They talk about me behind my back,
Calling me all sorts of names,
And telling my little sister,
Not to end up like I did,
But my mistakes made me who I am,
And I don't regret a single minute,
Of the life I went on to lead,
So don't listen to what they say,
Go on and be who you want to be,
The path I chose isn't an easy one,
And it's not the path you should take,
Your path is much brighter that mine ever was,
I want to run away from here,
Run so far you won't watch me,
Run so far the snow will cover this path,
Run so far that you'll forget who I ever was,
I'll leave a note behind with all the details,
So you won't wonder where I am in the end,
I'll only write a single sentence,
Don't come looking for me,
By the time you wake up in the morning,
I'll have been on the midnight train,
And so far away from where you are,
So please don't worry about me,
I promise I'll come back around,
When I've found a purpose,
For this simple little life,
So please don't cry cold tears for me,
I want to run away from here,
But I won't run too far away,
Because I can't bring myself,
To leave your side in the end.
Run so far no one will catch me,

The Real Monsters of the Night
She doesn't like to sleep at night
Because she fears that monsters live under her bed
Her daddy looks for her but doesn't see anything
Then heads back to his room and falls asleep
She lies awake fearing they are climbing into her room
She hears a spooky noise then runs screaming for her Mommy
The mother soothes her child and wraps her in a blanket
Then sets her gently back into bed
She awakes from a nightmare of a monster trying to eat her
Then runs to her parents room fearing for her life
They tell her it was just a bad dream and to go back to sleep
She walks away slowly wishing they'd understand
She cries into her pillow that ni

Still
I can still taste you on my tongue.
I can still feel your body next to mine.
I can still hear you whispering in my ear.
I can still smell your scent on my skin.
But the truth is,
my room is completely
still.
Literature
this metaphor hurts the worst
he dreams in blackandwhite
because color has always hurt his heart
and maybe he envies the moon,
maybe he's jealous of the stars,
maybe he just wants to burn in his one-bedroom house
without the dramas of letting everything go.
his metaphors are flatandgray
because emotion has always soured his stomach
and maybe he envies Hemingway,
maybe he's jealous of Poe,
maybe he just needs to get lost for a while
away from this bleeding-heart world.
